It's all about the Meat Dept. They do have other groceries at competitive prices except Milk. A shout out for Jeff in the Meat Dept! A true knowledgeable professional.
Love the store, but especially the Meat Department. The Butcher go the extra mile and make sure that their customer's are pleased with their protein choices. I also love how they are willing to give you helpful and useful advice about the various cuts, how to prepare and offer expert advice on proper seasoning. They are terrific about accommodating special orders, certain cuts, or certain meats for the Holidays, etc. Always call ahead at the Holidays as they are extremely busy but always willing to accommodate. You won't be disappointed and their meat is always fresh, unlike other meat from some of the other grocery stores. Love them!
I shopped at this store yesterday. They had everything that I needed. Their produce is plentiful and fresh. Their meat counter looked great. They have plenty of helpful, friendly staff to help find things. I was even helped out to my car .. Haven't had that experience lately. This is a great store!
A lot nicer and better customer service than Hy-Vee. I like that they match prices, but have noticed that Hy-Vee is placing more sale items in their online ad which makes it hard to go into Fareway and show the ad so they can match. If I know Fareway has the same item, I would rather shop there. One of the few things I don't like is the employees stock and straighten shelves during the day. When the store is crowded, it makes it harder to get through an aisle. I would think an hour before opening and an hour after the store closes is when everyone should pitch in and take care of that instead of getting in the way. You can always count on someone being at the meat counter to help. Can't say that for Hy-Vee. Personally, I have never seen grey or green meat at Fareway, but have seen it at Hy-Vee. That is a sign the meat is going bad, if you didn't know.
I love this store. They have a wide variety of produce and it always looks great! The staff goes above and beyond to help you out. The meat department is great as well.
I don't purchase meat , anywhere else. there are a half dozen of the long timers there that are most helpful, and help me out when I don't know what I am talking about. And No ! pink slime ! and the just upgraded the freezer dept, its 100% better than it used to be. and the store price matchs ! thanks to the great people there for making my food shopping experiance a pleasant one.
